Mise-en-Scene Analysis

For this assignment I was tasked to make a five slide presentation reviewing some visual elements found in the film shot that I selected. In the first slide was the blank shot, the second slide contained a description of the camera angles, and distance of shot. The third slide described the lighting, colors, and brightness. Slide 4 contained the placement in regards of the camera and where the focus is guided. In the final slide I talked about the depth of field and space.

The still shot that I chose was a still shot of Spiderman looking at the camera at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man. The reason I chose this shot was because I loved Spiderman as a child and I felt that the shot had a deeper meaning then most may first think.

Everything I identified lends itself into the tone of Spiderman being the secretive hero and savior of his city. Lighting was a big part of highlighting Spiderman as a big hero and the camera angle helped signify who we should be looking at.

 In this project me and a group of 3 were tasked to chose from a list of prompts and create an environment around the prompt. We were to have atleast 4 foley sounds in this environment a the rest of the sounds were to be taken from a copyright free sound effects website. The scene: A dark night in the woods, walking with only a lantern as the light source, you hear echoing all throughout the forest and the sounds of dogs barking, the sound of leafs and branches crack under your feet. Foley Sounds: Stepping in grass, this effect was very easy to create as we had daniel walk in the grass for about 15 seconds. Editing Techniques

      EDITING TECHNIQUES ASSIGNMENT       In this assignment me and my partner were tasked to create 8 scenes all representing a different editing technique. Each scene had to have a title card with the editing term, the title of the scene, and the scene that we put together. Sound had to be included in each scene and each scene had to be edited. The first technique we used was the shot reverse shot, the prompt we did was 2 people arguing. During the filming process my partner filmed me and my other friend pretending to argue. The second technique we did was a jump cut and the prompt we did was working overtime. my partner filmed himself at the day time going to his computer and working, it cuts to him later at nights tired like he’s been working all day.   The assignment that I was given for this Collage was to take 11 different pictures all with different camera shots. The process I went through for this assignment was first, finding an object to take the different shots with. I originally planned on using my dog but then realized it would be hard to keep them still so I chose one of my sisters plush parrots. My experience creating the shots wasn't very difficult as I had my dad help me because he's a videographer for reality TV so he knows all of the shots.
