Camera Work Techniques
Pan: This shot is a shot that steadily goes from either left to right or right to left. My experience creating this shot was very simple as i paned the school and everyone recording their own shots.
Whip Pan: Is similar to a pan but is very fast creating a blur between 2 objects. My experience creating this shot was I had my mom and my grandma pretend like they were having a real conversation as i quickly moved between both of them.
Tilt: The tilt shot is a shot that goes from up to down or down to up. My experience creating this shot was influenced when Ms. Flaten gave us the idea to focus on this pole for out tilt.
Dolly Shot: a shot that is normally filmed on a dolly that steadily follows an object normally on a horizontal or vertical axis. My experience creating this shot was I was sitting in a chair with wheels while my grandma pushed me as I was following my mom walking straight.
Handheld: As in the name, a shot used simply by human hands, normally a little shaky and not perfectly still. For this shot I just had my mom walk around the house as I naturally held the camera and followed her.
Zoom: A zoom does not require any movement, it is a still shot where the camera uses its lenses to zoom closer to an object without actually getting closer. My experience was simple as I saw a staff member sitting against a pole so I sat on the bench and zoomed into her.
Dolly Zoom: A shot that uses a dolly but does the opposite zoom of the dolly, for example as the dolly moves forward the camera zooms out. In this shot I had my grandma move me closer while i sat in a chair and I zoomed out to my moms face.
